After a couple steadier cycles in 2022-23, Fox's The Masked Singer hopped back on its downward trajectory. David Spade game show Snake Oil was a passable but uninspiring lead-out and doesn't seem to have been renewed.

I Can See Your Voice returned after sitting out the 2022-23 season and, alongside Anthony Anderson game show We Are Family, looked considerably worse than the year-ago filler, and also much worse than ICSYV's last season (a 75 in the same role two years ago).

Things got even uglier for The Masked Singer in the spring, which actually dipped below the league average for the first time in its last couple episodes of May. It was also no help for sophomore comedy Animal Control, down in Plus from its Thursday episodes last year. The network then brought Family Guy into this mess for some reason, where it produced ratings that had it yearning for even the old 1999-2001 ratings.

The Masked Singer Fall: Throwing out last year's NFL episode (which the fall part of the table does), this was the same kind of drop as The Voice's seasons. Could go C- but the league average decline was small. Grade: C.

The Masked Singer Spring: This was noticeably worse than the fall trend, but I'm still not going too harsh because the ugliest trends were generally early in the season. Grade: C-.

Animal Control: Ironically The Masked Singer may actually not have ended up being much or any of a timeslot upgrade vs. last year's Next Level Chef (which had a 91 spring average). I could buy the Ramsay show was more compatible than TMS. Having seen how the Tuesday Fox dramas did, it feels like -15% is not really that bad, but it is still just a 50 Plus after all. It got renewed like seemingly all the scripted bottom-feeders on Fox so we'll see what the next timeslot brings. Grade: C-.

Family Guy: It was looking kinda shaky even in the fall Sunday episodes and did very poorly on Wednesday, but the scheduling was basically sabotage. Though it'll be around for at least a couple more years, it seems like Fox and this longtime tentpole are distancing themselves a bit, as it will miss the fall schedule in 2024, and it's getting a couple holiday specials that will air only on Hulu. Grade: C-.
