- The Academy Awards posted 23.6 million viewers and a 5.3 adults 18-49 rating in the time zone-adjusted fast nationals (more accurate numbers than what is listed in the table below). That would be a horrifying 31% drop in the demo vs. last year, though last year had been a significant rebound from the previous year. Pending finals, it could be the first year that Oscar lost in the demo to the Grammy Awards (5.4) since the Whitney Houston tribute-fueled Grammys in 2012.
