WHAT MATTERS:
- ESPN's college football national championship game dominated Monday night and was up from last year (at least in overnight household ratings). (It averaged an 8.0 in A18-49 last year.) But two 10/9c dramas returned to the scene anyway. ABC's smash The Good Doctor (1.6) managed to tie its fall finale with a new lead-in from The Bachelor (1.4). Bachelor inched down from last week's already shaky premiere, and was down 33% from the episode against this game last year.
- On NBC, The Wall (1.0) and Better Late Than Never (0.8) both turned upward from last week's premieres, but The Brave (0.6) took a hard fall in its first episode without a The Voice lead-in.
- After rough results against football last week, the Fox dramas went into repeats this time (0.6/0.4). CBS was in second place with all repeats once again, led by The Big Bang Theory (1.4).
