WHAT MATTERS:
- It was a soft start to the CW's new season, as Supergirl (0.5) was only able to tie its low point from last spring, and down by more than half from its CW premiere from a year ago. And there was little interest in its new lead-out Valor (0.3), which looked no better than a typical Jane the Virgin episode on its series premiere night.
- On Fox, it was a normal to slightly high week two drop for The Gifted (1.2). The good news is it really wasn't down any more than its Lucifer lead-in (0.9).
- ABC's The Good Doctor (1.9) came down from its stratospheric heights from the first two weeks, but was still massively ahead of its Dancing with the Stars (1.3) lead-in.
- And The Brave (1.2) had a steady (or maybe even slightly up) third week, leading out of a slightly declining The Voice (2.4/2.5).
- And the prelims make it look like a steady night for CBS, but CBS is pending a Monday Night Football preemption in Minneapolis.
