Cablemetrics: The Sinner, The Guest Book, Ray Donovan, Game of Thrones

WHAT MATTERS:

• USA's short-order Jessica Biel series The Sinner opened with a 0.42 on Wednesday, building on its lead-in from Suits (0.36). At least on premiere night, that puts it ahead of the rest of the USA pack from last week.

• TBS premiered new comedy The Guest Book on Thursday to a 0.45 at 10:00, dropping to a 0.33 at 10:30. Its lead-in was a 0.59 from a repeat of The Big Bang Theory.

• Showtime got some relief from its Twin Peaks struggles as Ray Donovan (0.24) showed up in the 9:00 hour, tripling its lead-in from the 8:00-bound Peaks (0.08). Donovan was four hundredths below last year's premiere, and now we shall see if it sets off on yet another post-premiere growth trajectory.

• Also on Sunday, Game of Thrones (4.60) rose by three tenths in week four... but it did something very similar last year, so it was yet another episode of high-teens growth year-to-year. Lead-out comedies Ballers (1.12) and Insecure (0.60) gave back some of their surges from a week ago. Week two of Rick and Morty (1.26) was down 15% from the premiere, but still above any raw number from the first two seasons.
