Cablemetrics: Game of Thrones, Insecure, Claws, The Sinner

These numbers are current through Monday, August 14.

WHAT MATTERS:

• Game of Thrones exploded to another new series high 4.98 on Sunday. As I said on here a few weeks ago, new series highs are nothing new for GoT, but this is the first time in three years that it has hit multiple series highs within the same season. With the finale still ahead, it seems likely that at least one more is coming.

• It was an up night for most of the other Sunday leaders as well. HBO's 10:30 comedy Insecure (0.66) tied a series high, as did Claws (0.56) on TNT. A little further down the chart, Showtime's Ray Donovan (0.29) had its usual post-premiere growth, ticking up by 0.05 from its premiere.

• And USA's The Sinner (0.43) also impressed in its second week, ticking up by a hundredth from the premiere. That kept it at the front of the USA drama race, a half-tenth ahead of Queen of the South (0.38) and a full tenth ahead of its lead-out Suits (0.33) as well as Shooter (0.33).
