- CBS' Big Brother posted a third consecutive 1.9 at 8/7c. But week three of drama American Gothic (0.6) inched down at 10/9c, cementing a good week for Tuesday's Zoo (0.8) in the CBS summer drama hierarchy.
- NBC won Wednesday with very solid business from a two-hour best-of-auditions America's Got Talent special (1.7). That lead-in was seemingly an ideal fit for schizophrenic The Night Shift (1.1), which zoomed from last week's low after Olympic trials all the way back to a tie for its season high.
- Fox's MasterChef had another 1.2 and could be close to a finals uptick, while Wayward Pines will hope to hold its preliminary 0.8 this time after adjusting down last week.
- ABC had more comedy repeats (0.8/0.8/0.8/0.8/0.6/0.5), while the CW had one last dose of Arrow (0.2) and Supernatural (0.2) repeats before Penn and Teller: Fool Us and Whose Line Is It Anyway? take over next week.
