- It's looking like another smashing success for the NBA Finals this year, as Game 1 adjusted from a 6.0 preliminary up to a 7.3 final rating. This is the highest-rated Game 1 in my 15-year records and up by four tenths from last year's opener. Lead-in programming from Jimmy Kimmel (1.2) and NBA Countdown (2.1) were each up a notch from last year's openers.
- CBS repeats (1.6/1.2/1.0/0.8/0.6) were the best of the rest, and most of them were actually even with or slightly above what CBS did against Game 1 of the Finals last year.
- Fox's Bones (0.9) matched last week, while American Grit (0.6) actually upticked.
- NBC finished the burn-off of Strong (0.6) and continued the burn-off with two more hours of Game of Silence (0.5).
- And Beauty and the Beast returned to the CW for its final season with a 0.2, leading out of a 0.2 repeat of Legends of Tomorrow. The last season of BatB had four 0.3's (including one for the premiere) and nine 0.2's.
