Cablemetrics: The Walking Dead, Into the Badlands, Unforgettable

WHAT MATTERS:

• The Walking Dead finished out the first half of season six with a 6.65 on November 22 and a 7.02 finale on November 29. Dead never had a positive year-to-year point in this half-season, but beyond the first couple weeks it was very healthy. The finale was just 7% below last fall.

• After a stout start, Walking Dead lead-out Into the Badlands plummeted by 28% to a 2.27 in week two, then got a bit back at 2.46 on Dead's finale night. More important for the show will be how it looks without the ginormous lead-in, and AMC will get some data on that in the next three weeks.

• On Black Friday, A&E quietly premiered Unforgettable (0.12/0.09), the CBS procedural that had been cancelled after one full season in 2011-12, then un-cancelled and aired for two summer runs on CBS. Right now it's going a whooping 87% behind its final CBS season, but we'll see if getting away from the holiday weekend helps going forward. Seems like a pretty bad situation in which to put a drama acquired from broadcast, but it makes this renewal look like yet another miracle worked by the Sony studio...

• Also joining this week is Bravo's Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce (0.31). Like The Royals on E!, this was a journey into scripted programming for a network whose original slate had been entirely built around unscripted. It lost a large chunk of its Real Housewives lead-in (0.82) and was down about a third from last year's 0.47 series premiere. However, it settled in the general 0.3-0.35 area for most of the rest of season one, so if it can hold close to this it could improve its trend.
