WHAT MATTERS:
- The week's most interesting point probably belonged once again to Into the Badlands (1.06), which got its first look at life without The Walking Dead. Though it was down 57% from the previous airing after the TWD finale, 1.06 is still a really good same-day number by today's standards. If it can stay anywhere close to this in the last two episodes, it's gotta be back.
- The other big notable here was the competition void created by Dead's departure, which probably helped contribute to sizable spikes for the dramas on the two main premium channels. Homeland hit a new season high 0.63, up 31% week-to-week, and was actually above the penultimate episode from last season. It got renewed alongside The Affair last week, though those didn't seem quite as uncertain as...
- ...HBO's The Leftovers. It was probably even more significant for that show to hit its own new season high 0.48, and its second straight season high to end the season. For a show that had really struggled around a 0.3 rating for most of the season, these last couple ratings certainly didn't hurt in HBO's ultimate decision to renew for a third and final season.
