ABC's already dominant Friday lineup made even more strides in 2014-15, as leadoff comedy Last Man Standing and reality centerpiece Shark Tank both held up swimmingly once again. In the middle was new comedy Cristela, which found itself in the same position as Forever on the drama side: a significant improvement on the very weak previous timeslot occupant, but still squeezed out because of the network's numerous successes elsewhere. ABC will take yet another stab at 8:30 with Ken Jeong's Dr. Ken.

CBS' move of The Amazing Race to Friday was a disappointment, as the show wasn't even all that close to the year-ago ratings from Undercover Boss. (And Boss averaged 80 again for its Friday episodes when it filled in at 8/7c during the winter.) The Race struggles helped usher Hawaii Five-0 down just a touch, but Blue Bloods built to a series high Plus at 10/9c. They're all back again this fall.

NBC spent a lot more money in the 10/9c hour with Constantine, but they didn't get any benefit relative to last year's Dracula ratings. (The above average also includes some 8:00 Constantine eps.) So Grimm will not be leading into a new drama this time, at least at the start, and NBC fills the third hour with its token "see, we haven't given up on comedy!" hour: an all-live season of Undateable and fellow multi-cam Truth Be Told.

Utopia hung on for five Friday telecasts after the start of the regular season, which is three more than it got on Tuesday, but its 0.5 on Halloween was the last anyone ever saw of it. The closest thing to a win Fox had on Friday all season was the blooper show World's Funniest Fails, which averaged a 52 leading off in the winter. It's slated to return late this fall with MasterChef Junior (99/100). Can this network really move a league average weeknight performer back to Friday? They're taking their time to make sure, as this lineup isn't slated to return until November.

The real interest on the CW Friday in 2014-15 was the winter run of Hart of Dixie (24), which somehow was actually up in raw numbers from the previous mostly-Monday season. They're gonna hope for a similar miracle from CBS Studios survivor Reign, which averaged just a 23 in the post-Vampire Diaries slot last year.
