Rating the Ratings: In a shortened seventh season, USA's oldest remaining drama shed almost exactly a third of its demo audience for the second straight season, and for the third time in four seasons. It really had only two somewhat significant departures from the 0.35 average: the 0.41 premiere on June 2 and a random 0.28 on June 30. This trend is more disheartening for this season since it got a better lead-in from the reality series Chrisley Knows Best. I gave it a D- for this kind of decline last year, before I'd taken a bigger-picture look at the cable landscape. But even with a little better context now, -33% is still a decidedly above average drop, especially considering its solid lead-in. Grade: D+.
