Rating the Ratings: The last two short seasons of BET's The Game aired just three months apart and gave back all the gains made in the successful seventh season. Season eight opened with a 1.1 but dropped to 0.8 the next week, and the ratings trickled down from there pretty much through the middle of season nine, when it hit a couple 0.5's in mid-July. It was back up to 0.69 and 0.74 for the last two weeks. This left it a very, very long way from the huge 2.3 average in its breakthrough season on BET, but it is worth noting that even the 37 Plus for the final season was still higher than any of its three years on the CW. Grades: D/C.
