Rating the Ratings: Nearly a decade of consistent league average-ish production seems to finally be over for Bones, as the veteran Fox drama took a huge season ten drop to easily its lowest Plus ever. This was a lot like Castle in that it had a few very healthy weeks to start the season, then took a big, sudden drop from which it never recovered. The show took a 3.5-month hiatus through the winter, returning to very low 1's after DST. It actually upticked a bit for three episodes aired after the end of the regular season, suggesting that the competition from The Big Bang Theory and Grey's Anatomy was quite tough. I wanted to be kinder here considering the hiatus and the timeslot, but this was a show that got jerked around and was still pulling mid- and even upper-1's on a Friday for a third of last season. To be down 27% from a partial Friday season certainly suggests a much weaker program. Grade: D.
Here's the now updated War of 18-49 post for Bones.
