Rating the Ratings: The strange trip across multiple networks finally came to an end in season six of Cougar Town, but there was no sign of the audience that once made it a league average broadcast series. I'm not as harsh here as with the similarly-trending Justified because Cougar Town had a noticeable lead-in downgrade for the first half of the season; it led out of Ground Floor rather than the stronger repeats of The Big Bang Theory. But I couldn't go higher than this because it only perked up a bit even after Ground Floor was over. The year-to-year trend improved to -20%ish for much of that last half-season, but the final couple episodes were still down 28% and 29% year-to-year with TBBT lead-ins. Grade: C-.
