*- For this winter's War of 18-49 updates, the A18-49+ is based on a projected league average, calculated by applying the league average's current year-to-year trend (thru 1/18/15) to the final 2013-14 average. This should help make these numbers compare more fairly with fall seasons past.
Rating the Ratings: The last season of Sons of Anarchy opened and closed on typically impressive notes; the series premiere hit a new series high 3.2 demo, up a tenth from the previous season's premiere. And the last three weeks were also on the year-to-year upside, culminating with another new series high 3.3 rating for the series finale on December 9. But for the weeks in the middle, Sons experienced something rarely seen in the last four years: year-to-year slippage. That meant the season average barely downticked for season seven, but overall it was another strong campaign to wrap up one of cable's biggest dramas. Grade: B+.
