- The last Sunday in January isn't defined by one big event but rather by a series of small ones. The only one on broadcast was NBC's Miss Universe (2.0), which more than doubled its ratings from last year when it aired on Saturday. (It was slightly above its last weeknight airing, a 1.8 in late December two years ago.) But ESPN will likely win the night with the NFL's Pro Bowl, and the Turner networks had the Screen Actors Guild awards.
- Though none of these events should be all that big of a deal, it was still a very quiet night for the entertainment programming on the other three networks:
- CBS had a special Undercover Boss (1.5) which was pretty close to its normal Friday numbers, and two episodes of CSI (1.2/1.3) did no better than the show's usual delivery in the 10/9c hour.
- ABC saw small, probably-not-enough rallies for the finales of Galavant (1.1) and Resurrection (1.0), and no rally for Revenge (0.9). They came after a season high 1.7 from America's Funniest Home Videos, which might have benefited from the debut of afternoon NBA games on ABC.
- And with NFL help gone, Fox's comedy lineup bombed, as The Simpsons (1.4), Brooklyn Nine-Nine (1.2) and Family Guy (1.6) all crashed to season lows.

Horrible night for broadcast really. Only Undercover Boss and Family Guy had meh performances and that is already pushing it. Everything else is a big loser.
Not enough uptick for Galavant to get a season 2. Oh well it was fun while it lasted although it's not as funny as I hoped (but the songs were so much fun)
AFV is an asset for ABC. I wonder who will replace Tom Bergeron
Nice ratings for Miss Universe which aired way late since its 2015 already and the contest is for 2014 lol.
Yikes at FOX good thing B99 already renewed :D
Not sure why FOX is still airing Mulaney. It did a 0.4 last night, which is just awful. I think it played a role in the mediocre numbers for the FOX lineup.
For whatever reason though, FOX is airing the last two episodes of Mulaney on 2/8 and 2/15. Why save them? Just burn them off against the Super Bowl next week!
America's Funniest Home Videos did 1.7 which is good climb for it (although as pointed in the article it got an NBA boost)
It's pretty sad that AFV is the highest ABC show of the night as opposed to its paltry scripted line up..
And it did better than it's actual scripted line up.
well yes, Sunday nees a major change next season. I don;'t think Secret and Lies will do anything so ABC better pray OUAT does fine (the midseason finale rating hit a season(series?) low and no more Frozen afterglow this time)
Yes, I was ignoring the 7pm hour, but I agree.
1.1 for 60 Minutes and 1.2 for B-99 does indeed prove football deflation:)
When there's no Fox late afternoon game, there's one on CBS. Obviously, most of those football fans switch to SNF, and some remain on CBS channel for the evening. But it might be that small portion switches to Fox comedies, and joins the game on NBC later. Might be, I have no proof of it. But even small portion of a huge game viewership would mean few A18-49 tenths more. Plus, on the West Coast SNF game ends a bit after 8:30 PM, and I bet some of that crowd watches Fox after it. Or already before game ends when it's blowout game. Yesterday there was no huge football crowd on any channel, there was only (relatively) low watched Pro Bowl on ESPN.
Anyhow, this is good baseline as for what to expect from Fox Sunday block in spring with no direct or indirect NFL lead-in. Atlhough I didn't expect any better, it still saddens me.
I like B99 but FOX gave an early renewal to a an outsider comedy that just got a 1.2 in january without football help, something that most people, in fact, expected to happen.
FOX comedy situation isn't any much worse than NBC's after all consdering their true ratings.
Perhaps ABC should start the afternoon NBA games later so they end by 8:00 and lead into their scripted stuff.
I don't expect much from Secrets and Lies either: Remake/Murder mysteries havenlt exactly done well in recent terms.
As for OuaT, they're clinging that for dear life, at this rate, Sundays might end up being even worse than Tuesdays.
Pretty much, but comedies in general haven't been doing well, especially in recent terms.
Well, first 14 episodes of B99 averaged 2.0, and if remaining 8 would average 1.2 that's still 1.7 season average. Not stellar, but renewal would be deserved, and miles ahead of NBC comedies.
I have this viewership habit myself and I bet a significant amount of people do too.
Late afternoon football viewership always leaks to primetime, it doesn't matter if it is to football itself, to the same network or to other channels.
This, of course, isn't happening when the football game of the week is the Pro Bowl.
Fox's comedies may not be highly-rated like NBC's, but because they are niche enough to be strong in a particular demo (New Girl & Mindy for women, Simpsons & Family Guy for men) and skew very young, they can still find a way to profitability. NBC's efforts with Bad Judge, A to Z, The New Normal, Sean Saves the World, etc. have been over-broad and have just been rejected by everyone. Parks & Recreation and especially Community lasted as long as they did on NBC because they at least skewed young enough to make advertisers more interested in them and lowered NBC's median age.
Question for you: do you think Last Man on Earth has any chance ?
Brooklyn, don't you die on me!
Well it's already been renewed so it won't 'die', at least for this season.
I wouldn't single it out. The entire block did terribly except for maaaybe Family Guy so I wouldn't worry too much about Brooklyn. Last night's big winners were New Girl and Mindy though. This performance makes their performance look better than ever.
Secrets and Lies looks boring but I'm glad ABC switched it because American Crime which looks promising got the better slot
I think OUAT will be in the high 1s for the rest of the season. The drop in December was just not promising
With sub 2.0 The Simpsons lead-in, in low PUT spring, and with concept that would work well on HBO, but not at all for broadcast networks? Should I say more?
Only if Netflix picks it for later seasons.
I agree with this. Parks and Recreation's 18-34 ratings this year have been particularly striking when compared to the other NBC comedies:
- Parks: 1.48
- Marry Me: 0.98
- About a Boy: 0.76
- Bad Judge: 0.61
- A to Z: 0.48
This makes P&R lead over the other comedies even bigger than in A18-49! In A18-49, Parks is at 143% of NBC's comedy average which is already crazy but it jumps to 196% of NBC's comedy average in 18-34, which is absolutely insane!
Parks is even above NBC's A18-49 scripted average. And even more if you only count winter episodes.
Who could've expected that when it got its 13 episode send-off?
I know, it's just singled out since that's the only show I watch on their Sunday block, and I always get nervous when one of my shows get hurt.
Oh yeah. I forgot about that.
Yeah, S&L's set up feels like Gracepoint, a murder mystery remake lasting 10 episodes.
As for OuaT, pretty much, it sounds like it'll be what Shield is for Tuesdays. The show they'll cling to for their weak night only with more episodes under its belt.
I think this highlights how much damage TBBT had inflicted on the show last year when it had to go up against it on Thursdays. And that kind of makes me sad for Community since I think the show probably suffered even more from that considering how long it had to face the big bang theory. Parks final season is doing a phenomenal job filling in for the voice but I kind of wish they had simply gone ahead of final seasons for P&R and Community on Thursdays this fall, but well. All is good since we got Community renewed anyway.
It's the same for me actually ;) And it is also the only show I watch in there and it has turned into one of my favorite comedies. But my point was that I don't think there is cause for concern. Besides, we kind of have the show guaranteed for 2.5 more years since I expect FOX to give it a full season order for next year.
Yeah, even Utopia got pulled when it got a 0.5.
I guess, but even their scripted stuff is doing badly on their own.
Thankfully for Yahoo, although a shortened final season for Community wouldn't have been that bad considering how things turned out for NBC.
It appears the Resurrection writers looked at the ratings by the shape of the ending (Revenge fans can pray for the same). It jumped a full season in the future and had a good sense of resolution. It was also pretty evident that around episode 10 they had to main antagonist storyline of the season get resolved and introduced a new antagonist to push the storyline forward faster.
.
On another note, the end of Galavant was great. "Lets hope that the singing doesn't scare the Nielsen ratings away". It looks like it did, but it was a really funny way to end it.
Looks like I am ready to admit defeat on trying to claim that CSI deserves another season. It started on time, with a better more compatible lead in than usual and it still only did a 1.2 at 9 o'clock. Hawaii 5-0 got a 1.5 with an identical lead in on Friday. I guess its time to let it go.
The worse result of the night is Family Guy. Hands down. There is no Walking Dead or Game of Thrones competition at 9 and it can only manage a 1.6? That's pretty bad. How low will it go in the spring?
Brooklyn Nine-Nine had a pretty bad result too. It got a 1.4 out of a Simpsons repeat earlier this season. Does it *really* have that much crossover with Miss Universe?
I still think CBS should give it the mentalist treatment though. These ratings are better than out of slot repeats from other shows and they would likely be higher in an announced final season especially if they were to get some of the originals to come back.
AFV is the most male skewing of their Sunday shows, so it would probably be the one to benefit the most anyways
I wouldn't mind the Mentalist treatment either, but what sucks is that George Eads has announced that he won't return next season. If they cannot maintain CSI Nick Stokes, I'm not sure if they can afford any of the other originals
I was just to write the same, that it seems CBS plans to cancel CSI. But I came to that conclusion different way - because of this burn off scheduling with 2 episodes yesterday, and one more tomorrow. And for what? To free bad timeslot for the rookie CBS trust the least (we see it exactly from Battle Creek getting that bad slot).
I was optimistic about CSI getting 13 episode sendoff, and sure it would get it if The Good Wife would be shorter final season (so they can share timeslot) But after this worse-than-Almost-Human scheduling, now I think it's likely cancellation. Very likely.
I think it would take something very drastic, like them being unable to renew the Criminal Minds' cast's contracts, for it to come back. But both Criminal Minds and NCIS have good enough ratings to pay for their large, older, expensive casts. CSI does not. I would love to see the difference in George Eads paycheck from CSI in its peak to this season.
It was even below 1 million total viewers last night. Oof.
I don't think CSi will be renew, but I don't think cast salaries has anything to do with it.
Eads leaving the show only makes it cheaper to produce, which helps its renewal chances. And they get rid of Helgenberger and Guilfoyle in recent seasons. It probably leaves Danson as only cast member receiving big paycheck.
The last few episodes seemed like they rushed through some of their ideas that they probably wanted for another season had it actually done well.
I have no doubt the Preacher and the devil baby would have been season 3 and season 4 would probably have been about a worldwide mass return.
Fox wants X-Men series. But not for the next season, for season 2016-17.
And it's pending Disney-owned Marvel permission it airs on Fox, direct competition to Disney-owned ABC.
In the same article Gary Newman is cited basically saying: We will likely put Minority Report at Monday 9 PM in fall. He stopped short of saying it's a sure thing. Logically, as there's always possibility there will be other pilot they would like even more. Though it seems they are sure they will like Minority Report pilot much,
Fox ordered that pilot few weeks earlier than others, but
supposedly it was because there will be long post-production (CGI or
whatever). Meaning, early order doesn't put it in a frontrunner position
for picking, but what Newman said in that article does:
http://www.tvinsider.com/article/191/fox-confirms-theyre-planning-an-x-men-series-after-months-of-speculation
"You look at that and think, what a great companion Minority Report would be for Gotham," Newman says. "We love that it's preexisting intellectual property. The movie was great; it struck a chord with people. The idea of imagining a world in the future. The script was great. They worked so hard on it. I think when you speak of Fox, Minority Report is a big, bold more male driven show that fits the brand great."
I'm sure Jorja Fox costs a bit too, as she has been there, more or less, the whole run, but I see your point
Exactly, it seemed like they rushed through those ideas since most of the season focused on Langdon family drama.
Not maintain but probably have them return for 2 or 3 episodes at the end.
I'm sure that they could get Marg Helgenberger back, she already has returned once. Paul Guilfoyle only left last season, so I'm sure that he would return. But William Peterson has shown a real hesitancy to return
No wonder he hesitates. I watched few episodes with Danson, and show is nothing like CSI at its peak (while Dourdan and Petersen still were there). Now it's more like parody of the great show CSI was at those times. It looks like Psych with no humor. And Psych without humor would be just a piece of crap.
I actually never watched CSI during its peak. My first episode was in 2011 with Danson and then have seen the originals later via DVD's. So I can enjoy the present because its what I saw first. Same reason I can enjoy the Star Wars prequels, as they were what I saw first
OUAT won't end this season.
CBS just announced season (Series?) finale of CSI: A double episode on February 15th.
Thoughts?
Because of this burn-offish scheduling (2 episodes yesterday, and one more tomorrow) I think CSI is very likely to be cancelled. CBS is rushing to free timeslot for Battle Creek. And that's bad timeslot, and that's the rookie they trust the least among all their new shows, Not a good sign, I say.
Ted Danson isn't a problem. Fargo is anthology series, so he'll do only one season of 10 episodes. And they already started shooting it last week, so they will wrap up in May, months before hypothetical next CSI season would start production.
Cast salaries are not problem. With Eads leaving the show after this season, only Danson would get fat check next season. Maybe Jorja Fox too.
Shorter than 22 episodes order doesn't mean the writing is on the wall. CSI: New York was renewed after penultimate season consisted of 18 episodes. But odd scheduling is what makes me think CSI now has only 10% chances for renewal.
definitely it wont but ratings are vulnerable when it returns but maybe it can bounce back to 2s we shall see
That would be funny if Gotham and X-Men were back-to-back.
I'm disapointed Galavant ended with a cliffhanger. Do the people really think a concept like that could have gotten a second season?
It's dead. Weird that they're giving it a horrid sendoff though. A show that gave such a huge impact should be getting far better treatment.
It should have, but I thought it was a good subversion to the "Happily Ever After" fairytale ending. And the show was all about playing around with cliches
LOL. And one day maybe crossovers. With ratings ever dropping, everything is possible.
If it wasn't CSI, I would consider it cancelled. But, CSI has created such a large franchise, and I don't see why they would renew The Mentalist, but not CSI for filler or something. They've really treated it badly this season, with all the burnoffs, overruns, and preemptions.
ABC is doing everything they can to ruin First Two Weeks game with unusual Fresh off the Boat scheduling:
4/2/2015 Wed - first two episodes at 8:30 PM and 9:30 PM.
10/2/2015 Tue - two more episodes at 8 PM and 8:30 PM.
Link for 10/2/2015 2nd episode:
http://www.abcmedianet.com/web/dnr/dispDNR.aspx?id=pr72557
17/2/2015 Tue - as announced, FotB into Repeat After Me premiere. If they don't change it, and if FotB isn't already pulled by then.
ABC ordered a pilot for a 4th Shonda drama. I didn't know it was even in contention but it probably just became the frontrunner for a pickup. Could they possibly break TGIT for it? I don't buy it. They will probably try Wednesdays at 10
It seems like a smarter idea because it would probably outrate whatever they would've put there. Are they airing 4 different episodes in each timeslot? I know it's not like a serialized drama, but that would probably make it harder for viewers to just tune into.
Assuming no repeats, the show will be done by 14/04 then. 19/05 is DWTS finale and the week before I expect a two hour Shield finale. 05/05 since it is Sweeps they probably plug in a special Shark Tank. I don't know about the last weeks of April though. Probably Shield (R) or Shark Tank (R)
I think the fact that even in good situations like it had this Sunday it pulls bad ratings hurts its chances more than scheduling. But I am still not ready to call it dead. I think the mentalist experiment is going quite well and that show was clearly in a worse position last year. I think it could still be renewed for that spackle purpose.
I could see them maybe moving HTGAWM to Sunday if Secrets and Lies fails, and it is more likely now that a new Shonda drama is in the works. That would probably hurt it, so I don't think it's a good idea: Increased competition, decreased lead-in and less compatible. If the pilot has serious potential, they could put it after Scandal and TGIT would still be there. Yeah, Wednesday is a good place to put it, and if Empire is at 9, viewers could flow right in. 4 Shonda shows, that's crazy! All hail Queen Shonda! :)
AFHV is a pretty decent performer, and maybe the farewell to Tom Bergeron will boost ratings. Apparently, the new host will lean younger, maybe that will boost ratings.
And she still has a comedy in development for them as well. Has Paul Lee built her a statue yet?
I've heard the idea of throwing Murder to Sundays around before but I think it they wouldn't do that to the show. It is their biggest success in years, I don't think they would risk it. Also, I adore the show but it is the type of show that is bound to have some quality declines in Season 2 since Season 1 has been so self contained, so I don't think it would be a good time to put it in a shakier timeslot.
A natural solution would be to have this new show timeshare with Murder. Scandal was also launched in the Spring so they could pick up this show and launch it in the Spring when Murder wraps its run. It would be TGIT all year long. But this assumes it is a limited series as well, which I have no idea if it is the case.
So, we'll have 6 episodes, maybe 7 for defer. Good luck Spot!
Vin Di Bona (executive producer) says they're going to find someone young to bring in a younger demographic base.
Secret and Lies might get a large Oscar push like, but it is at the same time as American Crime. It looks like ABC is favoring American Crime, so Secrets and Lies won't get nearly as much promotion as Resurrection did.
Hah. I actually dreamt once of a Flash-Arrow-Gotham-Supergirl-iZombie-Constantine crossover. Yes, the ratings went through the roof!
I loved these last two episodes. I thought these were the best, and a second season would be awesome with all these cliffhangers. Sadly, the Nielsen ratings were scared away. : (
How about some Marvel specials? They have movie premiere in May, and it's kinda big release. Let audience be exposed to some corporate synergy.
Another problem is that limited series curse. Although those shows mostly had declines over the season, what if even HTGAWM was not immune to it. With the Shonda pilot, it really needs a extraordinary lead to elevate the show. Viola Davis really takes HTGAWM to another level. Ya, but I can never imagine a Shonda comedy. It seems so unnatural to me, and I think it would fail.
Where did you saw those idiotic ideas about HGTGAWM moving?
They worked so hard to build this strong Thursday lineup, for almost a decade Grey's was like an island surrounded with mostly flops. No way they're gonna break it up now. In a few years. maybe.
I agree. I just read it in other boards and stuff, nothing official. I also severely dislike the idea. Especially because Murder will be coming off a very long hiatus so it wouldn't be a good idea to expose it even more in a harder timeslot
Silvio, where do you think they will schedule 4th Shonda drama?
They ain't breaking up TGIT. Way too dangerous. Probably Wednesdays at 10. Blackish is a decent lead-in, and the competition will be pretty weak, unless CSI Cyber becomes big. I can't think anywhere else, outside of maybe Sundays at 9 unless they have a really good genre drama.
Yeah I just commented on the limited series thing in my previous answer to Silvio, that is another reason not to move Murder.
As for the new Shonda drama, I think she can find someone to carry the show. Kerry Washington and Viola Davis were amazing choices, I think she can do it again. As for the Shonda comedy, it also feels very strange to me. Maybe she could get Kate Walsh to do it, I actually thin she is very good at comedy despite Bad Judge not having been a good show.
There is also Mondays at 10 although that should be reserved for more procedural shows. Sundays at 9 is also a possibility of course but I am not sure Shonda and OUAT would pair all that well.
There's a Shonda comedy? Oh my.
That script was bought by ABC in October. Only then they called it The Long Game, and now The Catch:
http://deadline.com/2014/10/julie-anne-robinson-shondaland-no-angels-abc-856223/
I doubt Shonda can find time to be showrunner, or to write episodes. It's probably just a drama under Shondaland umbrella, and Shonda having nothing with day-to-day business on the show.
My understanding is that that is the arrangement she has with Murder, and that hasn't stopped them from going full board on claiming it as a Shonda show. So you think this won't get priority treatment?
When Shonda finds a reality show to succeed DWTS, Paul Lee will realize his job is in danger and that Shonda is on her way to become the president of ABC ahah
I like it.
Do you think Steven Spileberg actually works on Falling Skies, or on Under the Dome?
Do you thinjk J. J. Abrams actually worked on Almos Human or Revolution?
I think this is that kind of a deal, but I'm not completely sure, I might be wrong here. We'll hear soon or later.
I can't see a Shonda comedy being any funny. Seems to me that it would be more "About A Boy" than a "Modern Family".
Shondaland's comedy is script by actors Scott Foley (Jake from Scandal; Noel from Felicity) and Greg Grunberg (he was in zillion series, including Felicity and Heroes). So, two rookie authors, and Shonda rookie as a comedy producer... Let's say it surely would be a fresh perspective, but, as far as i know, ABC didn't yet pick pilot, let alone series.
I think Wednesday 10 PM if it is for fall, Thursday 10 PM if it is for midseason.
Beverly D'Angelo and Chevy Chase star in comedy pilot ABC ordered.
Yes, ABC, not TV Land, I checked three times.
I did not know Shonda isn't actually working on HTGAWM. Thanks. Wow, ABC's marketing is really good.
I guess she did help them with pilot, and with outlining the season. And when production started, she simply returned to other two shows. I suppose it will be the same with The Catch.
I count The Catch as picked to series, because Shondaland's HTGAWM is their only hit drama from last 3 cycles. Nashville and SHIELD are limping to 88 episodes, and can not be called hits. Other than that, if I'm counting well, 10 cancelled rookie dramas (plus Forever and Carter to join soon), and Resurrection renewed (in hindsight, they better didn't, but who could guess so epic collapse).
Yeah, my understanding is that Shonda produces Murder and she was involved in outlining the initial concept of the show and getting Viola Davis on board. Other than that it is Pete Nowalk who is the actual showrunner. ABC doesn't announce it because it doesn't help their marketing but he is the one that takes interviews and all that, the same way Shonda takes for Sandal and GA. And Shonda actually writes some GA and Scandal episodes (I think she is writing the midseason premiere of Scandal for instance) while I believe she has yet to write an episode for Murder (I didn't check this one).
I think that if The Catch is a limited series it would be a good idea to simply have it timeshare with Murder. They would have TGIT the entire year and be done with it. If it isn't it depends on how much they like it. If they feel they have anther Murder on their hands, I think they could consider being bold an place it on Sundays at 9 (although compatibility with OUAT is dubious but so was Revenge and that pairing worked for at least half a season). If they feel they don't have such a breakout or a slower burner a la Scandal, probably Wednesdays at 10 is more appropriate.
I don't know where it would fit in ABC schedule, since I am assuming it is not a family comedy. However that is not saying much, the broadcasts are again crazy in ordering comedy pilots. CBS and NBC are both ordering single cams and multi cams like it was nothing and there doesn't even appear to be a common theme. I think we will be a bit angry when we see how they schedule all of that mess.
Shame they didn't expect this since it was being burned off from the very beginning.
I'm too surprised CBS is back in single-camera business. And one is from Greg Garcia, while John Leguizamo stars in Taxi 22. So they seem to be serious about it.
However, they really have no room for single-cam block. Not to mention risk of pairing two rookies. Then it's probably one singlecam with 5 multicams in the fall. I hope they won't repeat mistake with sandwiching singlecam between multicams (The Crazy Ones). If they think they might have hit on hands, then they can try it at Monday 8:30 PM while TBBT is on Monday. But if it's comedy they don't trust much, then they better launch it on Thursday 9:30 PM in November. It's much better such leads into unimportant drama (PoI or Elementary at Thu 10 PM), than potentially hurting Scorpion (they would pull rookie off schedule after 2 or 3 weeks if it bombs on Monday, but still).
I agree with you that it is a really strange thing. I am not sure your solution is the best though. Because Mondays at 8h30 it would end up paired with 2 Broke Girls and I have a hard time coming up with a multicam sitcom that is more incompatible with a single cam than 2 Broke Girls. I doubt the pairing would work. But the upside is that it would be very easy to simply replace it with Mike and Molly again.
Thursdays at 9h30 for me are trickier because I don't agree with you that they will put a low priority veteran at 10pm. I think they will put a new drama in there. Elementary is doing terribly in there (its recent numbers look a bit better only because it has been against no competition) and POI isn't doing that much better on Thursdays, I doubt it would improve the slot enough. I think CBS will want more out of that slot and will try a veteran there. I am not saying they should - I go back on forth on that myself - but I think they will. So they are probably better of having a known property (probably Mom) leading into it. Problem is what goes to 9pm but well.
Well, at least we know something that might be compatible with LMS.
It's supposedly single cam, but yes. However, I have another idea:
They should squeeze it in at Mon 9:30 PM between Dancing with the Stars and Castle. DWTS would shrink to 90 minutes after few weeks in that scenario, and Castle writers would use those weeks to transform Susan Sullivan's character into the main one, and to introduce her love interest (say, Craig T. Nelson). Meanwhile phasing out Castle and Beckett, to the point where Nathan and Stana would just recur.
ABC Monday night would have nice flow then, they could brand it as The Hospice Night, given expected median age of viewership.
Yeah we don't know how it might do, it's risky.
In those cases, Abrams and Spielberg barely even have much involvement as they're more into movies.
Whereas Shonda is definitely much more tv focused. While she's not a showrunner for HTGAWM, there's definitely her touch on that show.
Agreed, moving that would be foolish, not to mention it would be a repeat of their past mistake. They finally have a big night on Thursdays.
Delusional posters and their failed scheduling attempts.
The problem with this curse idea is that it's with the shows and the writers that are the real problem and their inability to be able to continue the series past the initial run.
If HTGAWM plays their card right, they could continue naturally, otherwise they'll run into the same problems.
I do think that ABC has more faith in AC than S&L especially after how Gracepoint was received (another limited series murder mystery remake), that and remakes/murder mysteries in general haven't been doing well in recent terms. The comparison even came up with critics at the TCA or so I heard from what I've read.
With Resurrection, they basically gave the show their all and basically ignored the other shows during that mid season that were burned off and cancelled during that time.
Pretty much, especially with the way the Sundays are for them.
Vulnerable, probably, but with the state it's in, they'll probably cling to it and probably the same with Shield on Tuesdays.
