- Though it's usually not as viewing-depressed as the previous two nights (at least compared to typical levels for the night of the week), Black Friday was still not too kind to the few originals that aired. NBC's three-hour lineup of Dateline (1.3), Grimm (1.2) and Constantine (0.9) was down across the board. None of these ratings were all that irregular, though Constantine did give back most of last week's odd surge.
- On CBS, The Amazing Race (1.0) tied a season low, and holiday specials Frosty the Snowman (1.1) and Yes, Virginia (0.7) were down massively year-to-year. (Though they aired a week later last season.)

You cannot air TV aimed for children/families at 9 and expect good results. Literally eveyone from my 89 year old grandmother to 10 year old cousin could watch and enjoy Frosty, but a lot of parents put their kids to bed before it aired at 9. If they has not preeempted The Amazing Race for the stupid Hollywood Film Awards, then they may not have needed to air on Black Friday.
Last year didn't Grimm/Dracula have a 1.3/.9 on Black Friday? They did basically the same this week.
"Friday Factor" aside, TAR is looking really weak right now. Especially when compared to recent performances of sister shows Survivor and Big Brother. That 1.0 is just a bad look
I wonder if it did better in the Central time zone where it aired at 8?
Very good point about the HFAs. CBS are scheduling like ABC... and ABC are scheduling like CBS.
I'm from the Central time zone, so it was on 8 where I live. But 47% of the US lives in Eastern Time Zone! (Sounds crazy, but its true). And over 60% of the country would see it at 9 when you chuck Pacific time in.
I knew it was high, didn't know the exact number!
Yeah, a couple of years ago Survivor, Big Brother, and The Amazing Race were close to each other with all three doing low to high 2s. Now, TAR is doing less than half of that.
I lay the Constantine cave-in at the feet of the announcement that it's got no back-order.
