The Question, Sunday 9/28/14: Can Resurrection Come Back to Life?

The last day of premiere week is without a new series premiere, but there are a couple pivotal sophomores coming back. Since we'll visit Fox's animation/live-action mix next week, this time we look to the return of ABC's four-hour lineup, intact from last spring. The 3.8 March premiere of Resurrection was one of the biggest surprises of the 2013-14 season, but the show dropped each of the next six weeks, falling to exactly half of the season premiere rating in week seven before getting a little back for the finale. Now we'll see what's left after a four-month hiatus. Can Resurrection come back to life? That's The Question for Sunday, September 28, 2014.

Resurrection Last Season

3.8 -> 3.1 -> 2.5 -> 2.4 -> 2.2 -> 2.1 -> 1.9 -> 2.1

The best reason for Resurrection optimism might be its Once Upon a Time lead-in; it had a good second half of last season and could get a bounce from the introduction of Frozen characters. But after seeing Sleepy Hollow's struggle following a big Gotham premiere, I'm just not sure a bigger lead-in can really turn around a show that was fading last season. Once might help enough to keep Resurrection from a series low on premiere night, but probably not a whole lot more.
