Resurrection Last Season |
3.8 -> 3.1 -> 2.5 -> 2.4 -> 2.2 -> 2.1 -> 1.9 -> 2.1 |
The best reason for Resurrection optimism might be its Once Upon a Time lead-in; it had a good second half of last season and could get a bounce from the introduction of Frozen characters. But after seeing Sleepy Hollow's struggle following a big Gotham premiere, I'm just not sure a bigger lead-in can really turn around a show that was fading last season. Once might help enough to keep Resurrection from a series low on premiere night, but probably not a whole lot more.
Resurrection Over/Under: 1.95.

I feel Sleepy Hollow has the overall state of Fox as an excuse for that relatively poor showing. I'd also imagine that a lot of Gotham viewers were those who wouldn't watch TV casually and simply not too many of them would tune in to the lead out. ABC, on the other hand, have been on fire since the season started, and Once Upon a Time at this point simply should consist of its regular viewers. So I will go with OVER, though not by much, at a 2.1. Miniseries curse lives on (at least until How to Get Away with Murder premieres its second season)
Over at 2.1
Over, OUAT premiere should lift it to 2.1
Over.
Over.
2.2 to 2.3. All things considered, I really cannot see it hitting/tying series-low already in season premiere episode. Though I can see it happening few weeks from now.
It's been off the air for less time than Sleepy Hollow/The Following etc. and is now airing in a higher viewed portion of the year, OVER

Over. It definitely won't hit its low, and while I don't expect huge numbers on Once like everyone else does, no matter Elsa, Anna, or Sansa, or whoever's in this season, it'll at least get a relatively decent lead-in.
Over. 11% is a pretty healthy premiere bounce. I don't see people running off. Sleepy Hollow was off the air for 8 months not 4
Over. I think ONCE will get above 2.5 so it'll have a decent lead-in and even though it doesn't have a lot of buzz, there were more positive than negative reactions to the finale.
Over, because I am expecting big stuff from OUAT
Over. ABC has those mysterious casual viewers right now, so they'll bloat the ratings.
Over (2.1)
Under.
This will be the first time Resurrection will face off against NFL football and it'll be a viewer-friendly one at that with Saints-Cowboys. As much as I enjoyed Resurrection last spring, it will not be my highlight series of that hour -- it'll be the Family Guy/Simpsons crossover on Fox.
ABC momentum vs limited series anti-momentum.
This had a short hiatus, so I'm tempted to go over, but Cowboys in primetime? Oof. UNDER.
Over. There's a plot development, and I'm sure it was promoted during TGIT.
Over.
Not very confident because Season 1 made people realise this show doesn't know where it is going and people may want to avoid a repeat of 'LOST'. But it is fall season, ABC has momentum and the lead in may be stronger than usual.
Over. It seems the show isn't getting a lot of promotion, but I think it will come back with at least a 2.0 (then is downhill for the show perhaps?)
Under. This show & Revenge got the shaft promotion-wise thanks to Forever, the Wednesday block, and Shondaland. Once will be at about 2.5 max thanks to Frozen, leaving Ressurection at about 1.8, and it'll never hit 2.0 again tbh.
Big risk, here... but I'm saying Under
OVER
Over. Once will up y2y and I feel like Revenge has one more 2.0 left in it at the very least
I think Resurrection had some "event series" type buzz around it. That's tended not to do well in year two. Under.
Over barely at 2.1
Spot, the Hellcats plus is counting only Wednesdays ratings or the exhibition on Tuesdays too?
Over
over at 2.2-2.4
Damn, I was alternating between 2 and 1.9, which is exactly where the line is. Um...under, if only because there are more plausible options there.
ABOVE 1.95.
Over. Sleepy Hollow did hit a series low in it's return, but Resurrection also wasn't off the air for as long. I'm not predicting OUAT to do as well as some people are expecting (did movie tie-in's help SHIELD out very much last year?), but I think Resurection should still be able to match last season's finale.
I get the Sleepy Hollow comparison. But I can also buy that Resurrection just followed the more-typical midseason show type of route since it didn't disappear for 8 months. I also don't think that Sunday Night Football would overly damage the show since it aims for W25-54 and Resurrection had to face an equally strong show when it debuted (The Walking Dead).
ABC's had a fantastic week, minus Nashville, thus far. If any show would halt the momentum I think it would be Revenge and not Resurrection.
Over.
Over, (2.6-2.8 in the finals). I believe it has a big female fan base NOT especially looking for Walking Dead 2.0 and not especially big fans of heavy supernatural programming.content. It had a very loyal and a very big DVR demo audience that stuck with it throughout its freshman season. Looks like ABC is having a very respectable premier week with their estrogen magnet programs, especially so I can see Resurrection continuing that trend. A strong Once Upon A Time lead would only help it further..
Mysterious casual viewers. LOL. Don't tell ABC's dominant female fans of serialized soapy dramas they are mysterious or casual or they might boil your bunny rabbit..
Just Wednesday. It averaged 31 for the full season (including a mere 24 for the Tuesday eps).
Thanks, Spot. I figure that it must be only Wednesdays because the show average really bad numbers on the final episodes on Tuesday.
