- I held off till finals on this post because the big four networks simulcast a 15-minute presidential address starting at 9:00 ET. Though the finals sorted out what the actual numbers are, this interruption may have still had some effect on viewing patterns.
- Fox brought back Hell's Kitchen (1.5/1.5) less than two months after the previous season ended, and the results were not promising; this was 25% below the 2.0 that started the spring 2014 season. Historically, two-hour Gordon Ramsay premieres usually grow in the second hour, so it may have done a bit better in the second hour without the presidential address.
- The address also reduced any help a Big Brother lead-in might have had for CBS' NFL-themed special Under the Lights (0.5). Either way, that's a rotten number, and it helped bring the penultimate Extant (0.8) down to a new low (and a tie with Taxi Brooklyn).

I think it's worth mentioning how incredibly well Big Brother is doing.
Hell's Kitchen starting at a 1.5 doesn't bode well for Red Band Society. But an optimistic look does have some similarities to Glee season 1. Besides being thematically similar, they also are airing out of a normally summer show underperforming in the regular season after a really small break. Also, the X-Factor actually grew a little after starting early. Big Brother and AGT were actually hitting it harder than Survivor/Criminal Minds and Revolution/SVU were
Wouldn't be surprised if they made next season of Big Brother even longer considering how fantastic this extended season had already done. 2.4 and 33% higher than AGT says it all
