Rating the Ratings: The quick failure of Rake meant Fox had to call Hell's Kitchen back into regular season duty, and it occupied the Thursday 8:00 slot for the last two months of the regular season. Though it was a bit striking to see the show actually outrate American Idol in the demo on a couple occasions, that doesn't mean it was all roses for Hell's Kitchen. After a premiere down just a tenth year-to-year, the drops grew over the course of the spring. And while Hell's had a nice uptick last summer once all the regular season competition got out of the way, it didn't happen here. It pretty much stayed in the mid- to upper-1's throughout the season, with the 1.7 finale not even growing at all week-to-week. But since The X Factor got canned and -19% is not that bad of a trend on the fast-crumbling Fox network, there will be no rest for the weary; we're only a little over a month from Hell's Kitchen returning yet again, this time to anchor Wednesday and lead into new drama Red Band Society. Grade: C-.
Here's the now updated War of 18-49 post for Hell's Kitchen.

Intersting how its in season numbers are only about 5% above the summer ones. And they are evenly split. A little worried how it will do against Survivor with a minimal hiatus between seasons
