Rating the Ratings: Like Parenthood, Parks and Recreation was a long-steady NBC series that fell apart pretty much all at once as part of the network's disastrous Thursday. The fall brought a big double-whammy timeslot-wise; it had to deal with the departures of other NBC comedy mainstays (most importantly The Office), and it also faced The Big Bang Theory for the first time. The timeslot got a bit more favorable in the second half of the season, when Community came back and soaked up The Big Bang Theory at 8/7c, allowing Parks to return to 8:30. That provided an initial bounce to 1.5 in Parks' first episode of 2014, but ultimately it settled at about the same raw numbers as in the fall. The situation considerably exaggerated the drop this season, but not enough for NBC to give it a total pass; it'll be one of the many series with an announced final season for 2014-15, and it was held off the fall schedule. Grade: C-.
Here's the now updated War of 18-49 post for Parks and Recreation.
