Game of Thrones Last Season |
2.4 (premiere, 4/1/12, +20% y2y) 2.62 (average, +36% y2y) 2.9 (finale, 6/3/12, +30% y2y) |
The only thing really working against this show is that it's on HBO, a premium channel to which less than a third of US households subscribe. Does that limit its Live+SD ratings growth to some degree? I think it does. But the show still seems to be picking up steam in pop culture, including another series high to end last season. So I believe it has enough heat to get past last year's 2.9 high pretty easily. Keep in mind last year's premiere faced the finale of The Walking Dead, and TWD is out of the mix this year, the year-to-year comparisons vs. the 2.4 premiere should be more favorable than the season as a whole.
Over/Under: 3.35.

Season 3 premiere earned a 2.39, which is ~108% of season 2 finale (2.22).
Season 3 finale earned a 2.89, following the same pattern, GOT premieres to a 3.12 today, so under.

Over.
Just because it seems to me they're promoting hell out of it.
Over.
Under, reinforced by it being the minority position.
I half-expect to be wrong, though.
Under (3.2)
Over. Been hearing about it non-stop and if I'm wrong, it won't be the same mistake as with TWD last week.
Over
Over. I'm gonna bet on optimism, and that it can grow by that big chunk w/out Walking Dead in the slot this year.
Under. 3.2

I don't know why I keep doing this to myself, but Under at 3.2.
