- Fox returned to Thursday respectability, growing 42% week-to-week with the pulling of Rake and the plugging in of Hell's Kitchen (2.0) at 8/7c. The Hell's premiere was down from the 2.2 two-hour average to kick off last season, but comparing just 8:00 hours it was just a single tenth drop (2.1 last year). American Idol (2.2) saw no change in its move to 9/8c, but that may be a good thing considering its big drop on Wednesday.
- The first Thursday after Daylight Saving saw some minor slippage for shows in the 8/7c hour, most noticeably The Millers (2.4). Grey's Anatomy (2.3) got nicked at 9/8c, perhaps from having some actual Fox competition in the hour.
- And the CW's Reign (0.5) adjusted down after finals, so it was down two tenths in its first episode with a repeat The Vampire Diaries lead-in (0.3). So instead of an extremely good hold, it was more like a solid-to-neutral hold. (It's a bit worse than expected when compared directly to last week's 0.7, but that number was itself higher than normal for the show.)

Big drop for Reign, series low 0.6 W18-34 (if it's somehow adjusted up in finals, still would tie series-low). Down 33% from last week's 0.9 (would-be series high tying 1.0 in preliminaries adjusted down in finals).
It would be worrying, haven't lead-in went down from 1.4 W18-34 (final) all the way to 0.3 (preliminary) for this TVD repeat.
Where do all the viewers go after the Big Bang Theory? Parks and Recreation was only a tick higher and Hell's Kitchen only gained a tenth too. Wonderland actually lost a tenth in the half hours. So where do the 2.3 and 6 million viewers go?
Big difference in skew without an original lead-in, then, if the A18-49 is still in at 0.6...
Good point. Usually Reign scores 20% to 35% better in W18-34 than in A18-49.
And good numerical prove why they'll leave Reign on Thursday 9 PM. Either that, either CW will put it behind Originals. At first I thought they might pair Flash and Reign. Perhaps I was fixated on Supernatural keeping its sweet Tuesday timeslot too much.
Anyway, for some time I see that would be nonsense. Likely Flash is going to be male-skewed like Arrow. Or at least neutral, which is male in CW terms. Putting Reign behind it would probably took away its only strength, young women demo.
Cable?
Last season, Hell's Kitchen on Tuesday/Thursday was pretty consistent with drawing 2s. I wonder what the chances are that one week Idol drops from its lead-in.
Idol keeps hitting new milestones, last night being (I think) the first time it was 3rd place in a timeslot...
Reign however has been adjusted down to 0.5.
(still I think it's not a big deal)
I think Reign did well. It had a series of bad things happening for it... No lead-in, up against Idol which skews very much into its core demo of W18-34, preemptions and the first day of DST. And it scored a 0.53, which is not that far from a 0.6 actually. I would really keep it there next year and go all in on promotion and repeats this summer. If The 100 is renewed things are more complicated though
