CBS tried something very different in the Monday 10/9c hour in the fall, and
Hostages didn't work. Now, they'll go for something more familiar with the slick procedural
Intelligence. Since it's not that compatible with the comedy block, CBS is starting it out with a whirl after
NCIS tonight. If this show's going to work, it should be able to ride its NFL playoff promotion to
NCIS: Los Angeles-esque numbers. The slot is actually easier than what
LA faced during the fall, as
The Voice is gone in favor of
The Biggest Loser, plus ABC and Fox have their usual modest comedy blocks.
Over/Under: 2.45.

I'll say 2.6.
OVER.
I will say over, a 2.5/2.6
Under.
Really don't see why Intelligence would do any better than Golden Boy did year ago. OK, I can see it being more appealing to younger audience, but tough Monday 10 PM spot kinda nullifies it.
Having said that, I can see NCIS lead-in fueling tonight's preview to over 2.0. But I can't imagine it to be as much as 2.5. I guess it pulls 2.1 or 2.2.
Over from me.
10pm looks quite interesting. Killer Women getting a small lead in and having to compete with POI, Chicago Fire and the premiere of Justified makes it look like it will have a tough time, although I've heard good things about it.
Over.
I think it can do really well for the premiere, but then it is against the Blacklist and Castle, which should be good competition, even if they are lacking their usual post Voice, post Dancing strength.
Over (2.6)
Over. Lots of new CBS dramas (The Unit, The Mentalist and, more recently, NCIS: Los Angeles) thrived in this timeslot because of the good support provided by NCIS. Also, the competition is weak (TBL will probably be the only other show above a 2.0, and it doesn't seem to be compatible at all).
I just can't see this going under 2.5 for the premiere. The second week, on the other hand, is a whole different story.
I don't watch much on CBS (HIMYM and The Crazy Ones), but I have to think that they have been pushing this show hard; as I said recently, Intelligence is CBS' The Following. I would have felt better about the show's chances if Monday had the usual comedy block in originals to promote the drama's preview tonight. The dearth of drama offerings in this hour helps Intelligence, though, as well as the tendency of NCIS to have a ratings spike for January episodes.
Over.
I'm also curious at how Intelligence impacts Person of Interest. These two shows appear to be thematically compatible, and if it helps to rise POI's boat could that suggest a move for NCIS: LA next season?
Under. I have no faith in spring dramas.
Under, this seems older-skewing, and I don't think it will do better than NCIS:LA numbers in this tryout.
Then there is the ABC sitcom George Lopez, that was never really a hit for ABC, and did pretty badly on Fridays. It got picked up Nick @ Night and is paired with the massive success Friends and retains the audience really well. It also does well on local stations. Being poorly rated during your original run isn't an automatic no go in syndication. That being said, I like the Neighbors, but no season 3.
I selected entirely at random as I really could see it doing 2.4 or 2.5 and have no particular sway towards either. Over.
Gotta say, it looks likely to be an Over for me.
I was refering to my pet idea of a Castle/Killer Women/Nashville 10:00 swaps and your response to it. If minimizing scheduling moves is a concern, then rest Castle while trying out something more compatible.
Under, my prediction is 2.40
Over at 2.5.
Ah, I see. Yes, that was my idea as well. Air Killer Women in there while resting Castle , yes.
Nice result for the TRUE metric for recognizing the different help provided by DWTS and The Bachelor ;)
