Two Sundays ago,
The Following came back after the NFC Championship game at a series high 4.4 rating. Was that a positive sign for the rest of season two? It's hard to say, as the lead-in game (19.0) and post-game show (11.3) each did at least 10% better than I was expecting. The show probably didn't find a
ton of new audience that night, and the eight-day wait for the next episode doesn't help. But it should at least get tonight's episode to about the level the premiere would've achieved if aired on a normal Monday.
Over/Under: 2.65.

Over slightly. For some unfathomable reason, people actually like this show.
Over (2.7)
The Following only fell below a 2.7 once before the Voice and Dancing With the Stars besides on odd occasion on the first week of February where it went 2.9, 2.4, 2.9, so I think that since it is before the Olympics and the Voice, it will be...
OVER
While the critical reception isn't too kind to it, it did very strong last week, is only against CBS in terms of strong competition, and doesn't have to handle Voice nor Olympics, so I'll say Over.
under
There's a lot in The Following's favor: no real competition for NBC, the 9:00 hour is the weaker of CBS' comedy block (though the 200th episode of HIMYM & the accompanying promo it got during the Grammys may help the block by a tick or two), and The Bachelor's season so far has shown dropoff instead of growth unlike previous years. Plus the Polar Vortex Part Deux hitting the eastern half of the US may keep more people inside to watch TV. But the main reason for my optimism is how Fox's dramas have done on Mondays so far this season.
Over.
I'd be pretty surprised if it was <2.7. Over
Under.
If I'd have to set line, I'd put it at 2.65 too. Then I'll go under just because most of the others went with over.
Honestly, I don't see why Cosmos is airing in the season. I thought, and I believed it would succeed most, in the summer, and keep up with FOX's year-round programming, but hey if it does well, who am I to complain?
Over at a 2.8
Under. Even if more people got to sample the show after the big game, the show isn't any good, so I don't see why people will follow it to a different day. Also the drop off over the last episode was drastic.
Over. The show has that kind of sick "awesome serial killers are awesome" appeal that has kept Criminal Minds viable for nearly a decade. Not to mention all the people who enjoy tweeting about watching it.
Over.
I don't understand why American Dad! is taking the 7:30 slot instead of Bob's Burgers. It's splitting hairs, really, but why is Fox hammocking the show they are about to pass off to TBS instead of the show that's already renewed for next season?
I also would have preferred to see it on another night, and in the summer, but the co-production deal with National Geographic Channel probably forced Fox's hand with this.
Over, a 2.8.
OVER.
3.0
I agree that it feels like the right line, so I'm going to follow the same logic. Under at 2.6.
Hooray my pessimism was right.
The reviews were bad, I don't hear anyone talking about it. Though I'll admit the #s are below my worst expectations.
