Tonight the fall season in cable drama really kicks into the high-gear with the first return of a significant-rated series. (Sorry,
Boardwalk Empire!)
Sons of Anarchy is back with another of its patented 90-minute episodes. This has been yet another of those cable series that just keeps growing almost every year, and last season was no exception. We'll see in a few weeks if it can hold off its in-season broadcast competition again, but tonight it premieres against relatively little broadcast resistance. (I don't see much crossover between
Sons and
America's Got Talent.) Will
Sons of Anarchy ride to new heights? That's

Will this be a
Dexter situation, where the raw numbers finally begin to come down, or a
Breaking Bad situation, where there's even more incredible growth ahead? I lean toward the former, just because I don't see this having the kind of cultural momentum that
Breaking Bad did. But I don't think it'll be much of a drop.
Over/Under: 2.55.

I do think it'll drop, but not even by that much.

Under at a 2.4.
Over. Breaking Bad went back up to 2.6 on Sunday. Last season's 2.77 premiere was in the middle of July.
Sorry, the premiere date was a mistake (I copied over the Breaking Bad table and forgot to change the dates). It premiered on the same night last year, 9/11/12.
Yeah, I just checked that. Same week, anyway.
Over. I'd guess it has a less significant drop.

It looks as if either I win or everyone else wins. I would love to get off to this type of a start!
Just to go against the current: UNDER.
