- NBC's ten-night game show "event" The Million Second Quiz kicked off with basically the same demo rating as the network has been getting out of American Ninja Warrior in recent weeks (and last night). It's an OK but uninspiring start, and I'm still keeping an eye on tonight to see if it can benefit from the pairing with America's Got Talent. (The reviews seem pretty negative, so maybe not.)
- ABC was pre-empted in both Monday Night Football markets and saw the finale of Mistresses drop by three tenths week-to-week. I still wouldn't completely rule out a renewal, but this isn't the ideal way for it to end.
- CBS, with another 20+ minute delay due to US Open overrun, saw Under the Dome drop well below its previous low in the penultimate episode, even with a much better lead-in from The Big Bang Theory. Given the odd start time and the Monday Night Football competition, it's not that big a deal, but it'd be nice to see a big bounce-back for next week's finale.
- As for Monday Night Football on ESPN, the Eagles/Redskins early game (6.6) did sensational numbers, growing by nearly two points from last year's 4.7 opener and nearly matching last season's 6.8 high. But the year-to-year growth slowed to just a single tick for the Texans/Chargers late game (5.0).
