Rating the Ratings: In another generally ho-hum season for Fox animation, The Simpsons was the show on the low end of ho-hum, taking another drop slightly larger than the league average drop. The season's worst and best points of the season came back-to-back; it hit a series low 1.7 in an airing against multiple football games on 12/16/12, then a 4.2 in its post-NFL playoff game on 1/6/13. There have been some rumors ever since the 24th/25th season renewal about the show ending in the near future (even next season). But with Fox unloading The Cleveland Show this season and American Dad! next, one would think Fox is either 1) going to need this show for awhile longer; or 2) considering trimming back their animation presence. Grade: C+.
