Rating the Ratings: American Dad! may have had the best season of any of Fox's animated series, dropping by just 6% while the anchors The Simpsons and Family Guy were both down right around the -11% league average decline or a little more. It was Dad's second best season ever in A18-49+. And like Family Guy, it dropped less in the spring than usual; it was frequently even or a little up year-to-year near the end of the season. That made it somewhat surprising when Fox announced it was letting the show go after the end of the 2013-14 season. It's headed for cabler TBS after one more season on broadcast. Grade: B.
