Rating the Ratings: NBC had about as terrible a year in the sitcom department as you could possibly imagine. So even with the network improving its numbers on the whole, and even with Parks and Recreation taking a roughly league average-sized decline, the show managed to improve its standing. It ended up being the network's only obvious comedy renewal. Its timeslot "upgrade" to 9:30 didn't end up being much of one, as 1) The Office had a shockingly soft final season; and 2) it only ended up airing about half the season at 9:30 anyway, returning to 8:30 at midseason so NBC could launch 1600 Penn. So holding at about its usual A18-49+ level was a pretty decent result for this show. Grade: B-.
Here's the now updated War of 18-49 post for Parks and Recreation.
