- NBC introduced its final new The Voice lead-out of the season, singing game show The Winner Is, which rated just a bit below recent Revolution episodes. It gets another try next week and then looks to fend for itself on Thursdays later in the summer.
- ABC's Mistresses began its effort to come back from last week's disappointing premiere by surprisingly growing a couple ticks in week two, to a level ABC could potentially live with... if it stays here.
- And here are some notables from a very eventful Monday in cable:
- TNT got back into the ancient-skewing procedural business with Major Crimes (0.9), whose season two premiere was on par with last year's first standalone episode. (Its opening ep a year ago was after the finale of The Closer.) But they didn't impress at 10/9c with the debut of King & Maxwell (0.6), which did worse than almost all episodes of the already marginal Perception in the slot last year.
- ABC Family saw the return of Switched at Birth (0.7), which is a bit hard to compare since it didn't air in the summer last year, but it was pretty close to its 0.73 average from the winter. And episode two of The Fosters (0.6) was even week-to-week and grew somewhat in total viewers.
- Elsewhere, MTV's Teen Wolf (1.0) tied last week's series high premiere; A&E ticked down for a second straight week with The Glades (0.5) and Longmire (0.7); and Syfy's Defiance (0.6) seems to have settled at a level not that much better than the recent norm for Syfy dramas.

Clearly The Voice is poison to ABC's reality shows: DWTS kept hitting series lows against it this year, and now The Bachelorette is being stood up by viewers. It'll rebound once Voice leave the sked, but I expected it to do stronger given last season's solid finish and the growth The Bachelor displayed.
