Two summer scripted programs premiere tonight, but ABC's Canadian co-production Motive is the one with an actual realistic shot. The promos are generic; a new murder every week? Mind blown!! But if there's anywhere you want to premiere a generic procedural on ABC, it's after Dancing with the Stars. I seriously doubt this'll be able to sniff at Castle numbers, but it should be able to sniff at Body of Proof numbers, at least for the first episode.

It'll get big out-of-demo numbers without even trying, but that's not what this question is about. Under.

I've been gnawing on this one for hours, and hours, and I realize the problem I have w/ all ABC guesses - I don't watch enough ABC to really judge whether or not one of their shows is being promoted enough on the network. That said, I know Dancing is weak, and I'm pretty sure that no one's really gonna see a Canadian import w/ a wonky, front-loaded premise as anything worth checking.

This is kind of my thinking. Every ad I've seen talks about it being on Thursdays at 9.
