- Another important night in the ABC universe went pretty close to as-expected; the premiere of Family Tools only managed low-end The Neighbors numbers despite a very steady The Middle lead-in, while How to Live had a huge rebound with Modern Family back in originals. It was still four ticks beneath its last post-original ep, but Modern was also down a couple ticks from that airing. So this showing probably helps the show's renewal case and may give it a shot at holding onto the 9:30 post-Modern slot.
- Outside of ABC and the steady CW, there were some major WTF moments on the other networks with everyone back in originals. CBS was down well into the double-digits across the board with Survivor, Criminal Minds and CSI, while Fox's American Idol finally completed its 50%+ collapse from the premiere number. It may have been damaged by a recap The Voice at 8/7c. So what's going to happen when The Voice is actually an original next week???
