The Question, Tuesday 4/30/13: Will NBC's Grimm Post-Voice History Continue?

The month-ago meltdown by Ready for Love means NBC is positively running on fumes as it approaches the end of the season. With no obvious option to put after its huge Tuesday The Voice lead-in, it had to go for a less than obvious one. And that less than obvious one was the strong-for-Friday drama Grimm, which gets yet another whirl at a weeknight timeslot as NBC sizes up the show's scheduling options for next season. Will NBC's Grimm post-Voice history continue? That's The Question for Tuesday, April 30, 2013.

Grimm This Season Previous Post-Voice Shows
2.0 (premiere, Monday 8/13/12, 1.8 SES)
1.70 (Monday average, 1.28 avg. SES)
1.59 (season-to-date average)
1.4 -> 1.4 -> 1.5 -> 1.3 (last four Fri. eps)
2.0 (Revolution last week, prelim this wk)
1.5 -> 1.2 -> 1.1 (Ready for Love)
2.2 (Chicago Fire, 11/7/12)
1.9 (Go On, 3/26/13)
1.7 (The New Normal, 4/2/13)

Grimm has caught some flak for its inability to benefit in its weeknight tryouts. Of course, it never really had much of a lead-in in those episodes. Stars Earn Stripes premiered at a 1.8 and dropped into the low-1's, while the Whitney episode Grimm got in December 2011 had a 1.9. But Grimm won't have that problem tonight with The Voice leading in. The 3.5-point lead-in difference should be worth enough to push Grimm into the 2.0 vicinity even before we talk about the show benefiting from a "better night." But will there be any "better night" bonus? Debatable, but the history says not much if any.

Over/Under: 2.05.
