Hell's Kitchen Last Summer |
2.4 (premiere, 6/4/12) 2.5 (finale, 9/10/12) 2.58 (Monday average) 2.31 (Tuesday average) |
My prediction for this season was a 2.2 demo average, and most Hell's seasons historically (like most The Bachelor seasons) grow over the course of the season and end up averaging above what the premiere got. This season may be different, because there's so little competition tonight and much more after The Voice returns in two weeks. So I could see this season going somewhat like 2012 The Bachelor, which basically held the same rating after The Voice came back, the time when it would usually be growing.
Over/Under: 2.25.

I guess I'll go with over. Out of this and Kitchen Nightmares, this is the higher-rated one, right? I haven't really paid attention in the past. It's the repeat-heavy competition that's giving me optimism. Plus, I really, really want New Girl and Mindy to get a boost.
Going along with The Bachelor comparisons, I'll say this one just nudges over as well.
I think of all The Questions, I dislike ones relating to Tuesdays the most. The general malaise of all the networks makes me second-guess taking the over compared to the other days of the week. That'd be interesting to see, if there's a correlation between the Over/Under results and the days of the week...
In any event, Hell's has the night to itself unless Celebrity Wife Swap bounces back. And its two-hour episodes in the past have shown big spikes in the second-half; since The Taste has been hitting series lows lately, I can't see it acting the spoiler. I think your Best Case scenario is more likely here tonight.
Over.
On other unrelated notes for the blog: given Golden Boy's poor Friday showing and its NCIS: LA lead-in being a rerun tonight, I wonder how narrow the spread, if any, will be between it and Body of Proof. And could Smash sink below Do No Harm with a certain-to-be-anemic New Normal repeat lead-in?
Over: 2.6.
I may be biased since I'm such a huge fan, but the competition is so light tonight.
Over.
Over, 2.3.

Nicholas Nuccio: "Over, 2.3."
