The Question, Friday 2/8/13: Will Either of These Jobs Have the Friday Touch?


 Tonight brings two premieres, both of about equally little interest (to me anyway). CBS' unscripted job interview show The Job fills in for Undercover Boss for a few weeks and would be very happy to manage the same level as Boss, which has remained one of the leaders of Friday night. And Kiefer Sutherland's Touch is back after fading fast down the stretch last season. It may well have trouble just getting to the same levels as Fringe, which had a rough go on Friday the last couple years. I'm not sure why anyone would be interested in a "spread" between the two; I'm more interested in whether either will show any signs of life. So I'm doing the sum of the two. Will either of these Jobs have the Friday Touch?

Touch might just get Fringe level numbers and I don't see The Job doing as well as the fellow CBS Friday shows. Under.

The Job = 1.4 (this is a wild guess, i dont even follow unscripted regularly, but seeing as undercover boss's low was a 1.5, 1.4 seems reasonable i guess)

Under. Say what you will about the arc Boss has taken, but at least it didn't start its run on Fridays. Plus, is there ANYONE (aside from Iggy) who actually likes Touch?

Over, I could definitely see Job getting a 1.4, and I expect no less than a .9 for Touch.

Touch has a pretty loyal audience. Even the bonus episode that wasn't promoted at all got a 0.7. Still, they'll only equal 2.2. UNDER.

This Line requires The Job to pick up the slack that Touch will create, since I doubt the latter will pull it's half and earn a 1.2. I think Touch will pull Fringe-like numbers, but I have no idea how well The Job will do. Since Job only would have to pull approximately 80% of Undercover Boss' numbers to drag Touch across the finish line, I say over.

My own breakdown for this one was Touch (0.95) + The Job (1.4).
