Spotted Ratings, Tuesday 12/11/12

WHAT MATTERS:

• For reasons that frankly escape me, it seems these holiday strips always pick up a bit on the second night, though Take It All dropped in finals to end up even with the Monday result. (It was up a negligible amount in total viewers.) I'm not expecting the momentum to continue into the next two nights when it'll air after a repeat of Guys with Kids and an original Up All Night, but this was still a decent result. And it may have also helped Parenthood, which was on the high end of its results this season.

• Also for reasons that escape me, the CBS drama trio had a particularly bad evening, with new season lows for NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles and Vegas. The first two went two tenths below their previous lows. They're original next week and will have to hope for a rebound against The Voice finale night.

• ABC's holiday special Santa Claus is Comin' to Town was down 23% year-to-year.
