Rating the Ratings: The broadcast serialized show traditionally seems to peak late in season one or early in season two and then decline till it's dead. The cable serialized show seems a different beast. There are those that somehow manage to just grow into perpetuity (Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy), and then there's the almost equally amazing story of True Blood, a show that hit legitimate phenomenon status on about the broadcast schedule (late season two) and yet has managed to stay there ratings-wise. Season five dropped by just 2% from season four and is just 6% behind the show's peak 18-49 audience two years ago. It was a remarkably consistent season from start to finish, hitting a 2.6ish practically every week and never going above 2.9. Grade: B+.
Here's the now updated War of 18-49 post for True Blood.
