WHAT MATTERS:

• The penultimate eps of Gordon Ramsay's cooking shows both topped America's Got Talent in the last relatively uninteresting Tuesday on broadcast for awhile.

• The Democratic National Convention saw better numbers than last Tuesday's Republican convention coverage on all three broadcasters and more than twice the audience on both MSNBC and CNN. Fox News dropped by about two thirds from its week-ago RNC coverage.
