Rating the Ratings: Look, I get that Dancing with the Stars deserves a pretty decent-sized pass for this season because it had to go up against The Voice. Plus, The Voice had a significant head start in terms of when the seasons began. But these are some big drops. They'd have been smaller without The Voice, but would they have really been noticeably smaller than the show's drops during the fall? I'm skeptical. While the show did close the gap with The Voice as the season progressed, that was much more about The Voice than anything DWTS was accomplishing. It never really closed the year-to-year gap. The Monday premiere was down 34%, while the Monday finale was down 38%. Both the premiere and finale on Tuesday were down 28%. Overall, I do give the season something of a pass, but I can't say I feel it should grade out higher than the fall season. Grade: D.
Here's the now updated War of 18-49 post for Dancing with the Stars.
