Spotted Ratings, Wednesday 5/2/12

WHAT MATTERS:

• Week four of ABC's Apartment 23 bounced back up with a Modern Family lead-in, but the extent to which that's encouraging is up for debate. After a finals drop, the show is now a tick below the late-season level of Happy Endings with an original lead-in (though Modern was also stronger in February). How safe that makes it depends on how safe you think Happy Endings is.

• Not much happened elsewhere; a bunch of shows were even or barely down. NBC got major improvement at 8:30 by plugging in Off Their Rockers for axed Best Friends Forever, and the positives continued later in the evening with Rock Center and Law and Order: SVU. But overall, Off Their Rockers had a bad outing, finishing well behind previous results.
