- Summer arrived a couple weeks early, as NBC premiered the new season of America's Got Talent with Howard Stern. That's down 14% from last year's premiere (a 4.3 on May 31) but a little ahead of the previous couple premieres. So Stern didn't produce a game-changing splash, but he didn't really bomb either, and the competition is gonna clear up fast in the coming weeks.
- And ABC had summer staple The Bachelorette premiering a week earlier than usual. It's actually pretty encouraging that it's only down a couple tenths from last year's 2.8 premiere, because this time it matched lead-in Dancing with the Stars, while last year DWTS was about two full points stronger.
- It was finale Monday on CBS, where a one-hour How I Met Your Mother supported my "it's Truly stronger than 2 Broke Girls" theory (2BG got a 3.3 in the same slot last week). They also got a bounce with the wedding on Mike and Molly, while Hawaii Five-0 seemed to enjoy not facing Castle.
