Though the glut of music competitions has taken an enormous toll on the veteran players in that space, the new ones just keep hitting. Eventually, it seems like that's gonna have to end. Will tonight's Duets premiere officially signal an over-saturation or yet another hit?

I'm not gonna pick against Big Brother, which has amazingly grown for each of the last three summers. I'm guessing that streak finally comes to an end, but it should still hold off Wipeout and the rest. It'll be interesting to see if Wipeout can turn it around this summer after getting a bit of a hiatus in the spring this time. A big lead-in from Duets wouldn't hurt.

Hard to pick a winner here. Awkward picked up huge steam in the second half of season one, but it's probably gonna come down to its lead-in. Rookie Blue is likely to have generally better lead-ins than Expedition Impossible provided for most of last summer. And Suits can't be counted out either.

Smart of The CW to shift TVD back an hour and not let a repeat lead into original programming. And assuming both Saving Hope and The Choice can make it to July, the Big Four will have original summer programming in the 9 pm hour, something I never thought would rarely, if ever, happen.
For 10 pm, I think it will be a Suits vs. Snooki & J-Woww/Awkward fight for first place.
I believe The Choice only has 6 episodes, so it's technically only possible for one day (July 12) unless Fox has some other original for the second half of the summer.
