Spotted Ratings, Tuesday 4/17/12: Dubious Practices

WHAT MATTERS:

• In its first airing away from Thursday since 2008, Private Practice looked quite weak, coming in more than two tenths behind the post-DWTS average for Body of Proof over the previous three weeks (and 10% behind the full timeslot average). My thought was Body of Proof probably needed almost all the other marginal ABC dramas to collapse to have a shot at coming back, but these days that seems to be a pretty good bet.

• I thought Glee did pretty decently in its return from hiatus last week, but that may have been a one-time thing, as this week's episode took a multiple-tick dip. Most other 8/7c players were also down as Last Man Standing continues to look worse by the week. I still think it's getting renewed, but it's not doing itself any favors.
