America's Next Top Model Fall | 0.7 | 0.85 | 1.1 | -35% | detail |
Rating the Ratings: Last spring, America's Next Top Model was down 35% from the year-ago season, but I gave it a bit of a pass because the move of American Idol to 8:00 on Wednesday caused the show to face Idol more than usual. The situation this fall is pretty similar: 35% decline, but more competition than usual with the advent of The X Factor. But here's the thing: X Factor wasn't the Death Star II that many were predicting. If it had pulled the 7.0+ demos of Idol, I might be tempted to give this kind of drop a D or D- again. But it wasn't that huge of a deal. With two straight -35% cycles, I think it's time to finally admit this franchise is in a tailspin. The problem for its network? So is almost everything else. Grade: F.
Here's the now updated War of 18-49 post for America's Next Top Model.
