- Fox shook it up again on this Thursday as they shrank The X Factor to an hour and introduced season seven of Bones, which certainly benefited from the X lead-in but, notably, did better than the majority of the American Idol-fueled episodes late last season. Considering the Idol lead-in was usually about 3 points higher, that's good work by the show.
- Most other shows came back to relatively "normal" (pre-World Series) levels, which was good news for a network like NBC which got slammed against the Series last week. A few notable exceptions: first, The Big Bang Theory made a huge jump, marking its first Thursday episode to exceed its average from its Monday 9:30 days. Also, 10/9c dramas rose, as The Mentalist hit a season high and Private Practice will hit its highest number since the premiere. Perhaps those shows are benefiting from the lack of Jersey Shore?
