- The third Friday of the season saw sophomore cop drama Blue Bloods as the evening's top program for the third straight week (and the outright top program for the second straight). It gained a tick from last week. CBS' 8:00 newbie A Gifted Man held at its low week two level.
- Losing steam were Nikita (down a tenth and the net's weakest non-H8R program this week) and Dateline, which lost another couple tenths and is now down by 0.6 from its big premiere Friday performance.
- The ABC encores are also getting weaker, as Modern Family, Suburgatory and Revenge were all down two tenths from the week-ago encores. ABC's scheduled for one more week of these before welcoming Extreme Makeover: Home Edition to the night on October 21, while NBC (which had Up All Night and Whitney in the 8:00 hour) still plans on shifting to original Chuck and Grimm on the 28th.
- Fringe got back a tenth following its big drop in week two.
