- I noted back when CBS axed Chaos and announced the early return of Flashpoint that I didn't think the show would make a meaningful improvement on the Chaos ratings. On premiere night, Flashpoint indeed built by just one-tenth on the third and final Chaos airing. And Flashpoint dropped after the premiere last season. With yet another weak lead-in at 8pm, CSI: NY and Blue Bloods both dropped a tick, and Blue Bloods tied a series low.
- Kitchen Nightmares made it back to about average levels following its weak showing last week. Perhaps it benefited from the absence of CBS' royal wedding special. But Fringe dropped 25% from Nightmares and tied a series low. Not good for finale night, but the renewal's secure.
- The Bin Laden news following the royal wedding news means we're probably in for a second straight above-average week for the newsmagazines. 20/20 and Dateline were both more than 10% above average. The 60 Minutes interview with Obama tonight (Sunday) should do even better.
